Take a walk along a small section of the Goldfields Track and local tracks through urban bushland in Buninyong and Mt Helen, with the opportunity to visit Ballarat Bird World in Eddy Ave. Over 200 beautiful parrots and cockatoos are on show including a walk through aviary of 1000 sq. m.

Summary
Track Surfaces: Sealed and gravel surfaces on walking/bike tracks, sealed and gravel roads. One hill on Lumeah Rd and three hills on Eddy Ave.
Facilities: There are toilets including disabled toilet, shelters and a barbecue and children’s playground located in De Soza Park. Also toilets & Café at Ballarat Bird World between 10am-5pm. Also, there are cafés and a Hotel within three minutes walk from De Soza Park.
Best Season: Each season has its advantages. Winter & spring for the wattles, autumn and summer for the best weather.

Hazards: Some parts of the track are shared with bicycles so be alert and considerate to other users. The section along Moss Ave can be walked along the roadside verge, apart from one short section. Although the roads are not busy, be careful of cars in Moss Ave, Eddy Ave and Lumeah Rd.
Car Parking: Free car parking adjacent to De Soza Park. Parking is also available at Ballarat Bird World between 10am & 4.30pm if you wish to start from there. Outside of those hours, parallel parking is available in Eddy Ave opposite Ballarat Bird World.
Public Transport: Route 21, Buninyong, a regular half-hourly service from Ballarat Railway Station. Important: there are only four services on a Sunday. For an up to date Timetable see CDC Victoria
